Pepper is a Hagerstown native, former Herald-Mail reporter and public relations specialist for The Humane Society of the United States, focusing on promoting the passage of stronger animal cruelty laws. She lives in Harpers Ferry, W.Va.

Krista is a freelance writer with more than 15 years of reporting experience. A graduate of Syracuse University, she started her journalism career on Maryland’s Eastern Shore before joining The Frederick News-Post in 1995.

A writer for true-crime cable documentary series such as A&E’s City Confidential and Snapped on the Oxygen Network, Matt likes to take the occasional break from murder with magazine work. In between, he’s written everything from Saturday morning cartoons to funeral home commercials. Matt lives in a 130-year-old Frederick townhouse and is currently struggling with the sad realization he’s no Bob Vila.

A lifelong resident of Washington County, she is a mom to two boys and an avid photographer. Charissa received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland in College Park.

Cathy writes for national and regional magazines and has almost 20 years of copywriting, marketing and graphic design experience. Based in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., she has a passion for old home restoration and travel, and takes a special interest in writing about those subjects.
